"Saturn eats his child "
Francisco Goya (1748-1828)

"Scream by Edvard Munch is a formal exaggeration: Maybe this is how a worried mind looks at the world. Goya - in the other way stands outside the whole thing and describes the world or the horror as it is. The evil law of gravity exist here. That is a posistion I like better than others...Goya doesn't need to be mad in painting this picture. He did it because he had found a dramatic expression...Goya had the same development as Ttizian and Rembrandt. The under text is there all the time, he didn't need to paint each and every detail. That is only something the great heavy masters can do."
